KARACHI: Rangers and CTD foiled a terror plot in the city by killing two terrorists of the banned outfit during the operation.
According to a Rangers spokesman, the accused Mohammad Rafiq alias Adil alias Habibullah and Adnan Shabbir alias Qari were involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan and were wanted by the forces, while the arrest of Mohammad Rafiq alias Adil alias Habibullah had a reward of Rs 2 million and the accused Adnan. Shabbir alias Qari was a very dangerous terrorist of the banned organization.
According to a Sindh Rangers spokesman, the dead terrorists were involved in bomb blasts, bank robberies, sectarian terrorism and several targeted killings of law enforcement personnel.
The spokesman said that the most dangerous terrorist of TTP Ustad Aslam group, Raees Yar Muhammad Goth, was present in Baldia Town area. Upon receiving the information, Shaheen group of Pakistan Rangers and CTD police planned to arrest the terrorists. ۔
According to the spokesman, last night Raees Yar Muhammad Goth was besieged in Baldia Town to arrest the terrorists. Meanwhile, the accused started firing indiscriminately after seeing the advance of the forces and two accused were killed in retaliation.
The spokesman added that the terrorists were repeatedly told to drop their weapons and make arrests through megaphones, but they continued firing.
According to the spokesman, two SMGs, two 9mm pistols, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the accused. Both the accused had recently come to Karachi from Afghanistan and were planning to carry out a major terrorist attack in Karachi.
