Tik Tok administration contacted the government of Pakistan and assured to remove illegal content
Negotiations between the Tik Tok administration and the PTA, the Tik Tak administration promised to stop the sharing of illegal content and ensure the sharing of content on social media in accordance with Pakistani law.
According to the PTA, a meeting was held between the Chairman PTA and the top management of Tik Tak on a virtual platform yesterday. The meeting discussed issues related to the prevention of immoral content in accordance with Pakistani law.
On this occasion, the efforts and measures taken by the Tik Tok administration to curb the prohibited material in accordance with the local laws were informed.
The meeting agreed to work out a plan of action to prevent objectionable content and provide safe content to Pakistani consumers and to keep in touch.
The PTA issued a statement regarding the meeting stating that the senior management of Tik Tok had decided to moderate the content on Tik Tok in accordance with local laws and future strategies for online sharing of content in accordance with Pakistani law. He also informed the Chairman PTA about this.
It should be noted that PTA had banned Chinese social media app TikTak two days ago.
According to the PTA, various sections of the society had complained about the presence of immoral and unethical obscene content on Tik Tok, after which it was decided to ban the app.
The majority of Pakistanis supported the ban on Tik Tok, while there was opposition from some quarters.
Opponents of the ban, on the other hand, argued that the closure of Tik Tok could not embarrass the dream of a digital Pakistan. Tik Tak is a source of employment and entertainment for people.
