President Arif Ali unfurled the flag at the main Independence Day function at the Presidency.

ISLAMABAD: The main function of Independence Day was held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. President Arif Alvi hoisted the flag and addressed the function.

In his address, President Arif Ali said that after the establishment of Pakistan, the country faced many challenges, the nation learned a lot through trials. Corona was attacked all over the world including Pakistan, the whole world went to lockdown. I pay tribute to Prime Minister Imran Khan. He decided that he could not do a complete lockdown. He did a partial lockdown out of concern for the poor.

Arif Alvi said that last year India invaded but Pakistan gave a message of peace, Pakistan sacrificed thousands of lives in the war against terrorism.
Earlier, a siren was sounded at the beginning of the Independence Day celebrations in the Presidency. President Arif Ali waved a green crescent flag. Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjarani, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Information Minister Shibli Faraz and other federal ministers and special assistants also attended the function.
